You need a vehicle salesperson license if you sell vehicles, vehicle contracts, or supervise vehicle sales or contracts for a dealer.
To apply for your license, submit the following:
California Vehicle Code (CVC) §§675 and 11800-11824. The CVC is available for purchase from DMV.
